Ylang Ylang, often known as the ‘flower of flowers,’ is native to the Indian Ocean region, including India, the Philippines, Malaysia, and portions of Australia. Ylang Ylang Oil has been utilised in both the east and the west for centuries. It is used to treat cuts, burns, insects, and snake bites in the Philippines. It is used as the principal ingredient in Macassar oil, a hairdressing pomade that became popular in Victorian England, on the Moluccas islands. It is used to embellish the nuptial bed in Indonesia.
